Joseph Dell.Aquila
Joseph Dell.Aquila is the owner and founder of JDA Group. He grew up in Hoboken in the 1940s, and his family, as immigrants, became involved in the garment business primarily by default. Mr. Dell.Aquila continued on in the garment industry, and in 1964, founded his own company in Hoboken with only two sewing machines. Over the years, Mr. Dell.Aquila had tremendous success building his business. At its peak, the company had a factory in Hoboken with as many as 500 employees.
As globalization and the passage of NAFTA exported most manufacturing out of the country, Mr. Dell.Aquila decided to open up a facility in Mexico. With the continued increase in competition from eastern countries, Mr. Dell.Aquila decided to close up shop and reinvent himself as a real estate owner and developer. This proved an easy transition as he already possessed extensive experience in this arena and also had a deep interest in real estate both for business and pleasure. In addition to purchasing factory buildings and renovating them for commercial use, Mr. Dell.Aquila also had experience in renovating single-family homes.
